The helvetia cup story
The International Helvetia Cup was launched in Bad Ragaz in 2001 to give the St. Gallen Oberland team the chance to compete against top international teams and gain valuable match practice. Since the tournament was first organised, the focus has been on the exchange between cultures and forging friendships across national borders. In addition, teams from developing countries or crisis areas are given the opportunity to compete at a high level and gain new experiences.
Since 2019, the International Helvetia Cup has developed into an inclusive sporting event that fulfils a major social responsibility. People with and without disabilities are brought together at all levels of sport and all players are given the opportunity to actively participate in society through education and sport.
