FOOTBALL FOR INCLUSION
The countdown to the 12th International Helvetia Cup - Football for inclusion has started! The tournament is organised by 8 to 11 August in the Gründenmoos stadium in St. Gallen.
The International Helvetia Cup is aimed at young people with and without disabilities;
- an international tournament for young people with mental and/or physical disabilities
- with a tournament for amputee football teams,
- a regional women's football tournament,
- an international U17 tournament in which a special guest team from a developing country or a crisis region takes part,
- and an inclusion tournament in which all football enthusiasts of all ages with and without disabilities are invited to take part
Goal
The aim of the project is to promote inclusion through play and build mutual understanding. To this end, we utilise the potential offered by play and sport - because football unites!
Social Impact
Football is more than just a sport. It promotes health and conveys important values such as fairness, team spirit, respect and tolerance. Football brings people together and overcomes barriers. Through its power, it can improve the lives of children and young people in the long term. For this reason, we use football as a supporting element to achieve our goals and promote inclusion.
Uniqueness of the project
The International Helvetia Cup - Football for Inclusion - offers a unique platform for encounters.
During the sporting event, the football pitch becomes an inclusive learning space that connects people with and without disabilities and from different cultural and social backgrounds. Social participation is promoted through play and sport.
